YallaPunk Community Archive FAQs
I want to donate multiple items. Do I have to submit a separate donation form for each item?
Yes. We are collecting as much information as possible for each donation. Submitting individual forms will help us keep track of what information accompanies each item.
I have dozens of photos from the festival. Do I have to submit a donation form for each photo?
Send us an email below and we will work it out!
I have never been to YallaPunk. Can I still donate?
Yes! We are interested in documenting the physical and digital network created by YallaPunk.
I want to submit anonymously. Do I have to include my name?
No, you can submit anonymously. Be sure to check that you do not want to be credited as a donor.
Where do I send my donations?
After you submit your donation form, someone will contact you to arrange digital transfers, a pick up if you are based in Philadelphia or shipping details.
I live outside of Philadelphia. Do I have to cover shipping costs?
We will reimburse you! Once you fill out the form, we will get in touch regarding the best way to reimburse you!
Will I be paid for my donation?
We have no dedicated budget for the purchase of collections and currently do not have the capacity to pay artists for their work. The archive is structured around donations.
What are you doing to keep my donation safe?
Due to COVID-19, the YallaPunk Community Archive is currently based in the private residence of Caitlin Abadir-Mullally within acid-free folders and storage boxes that can be safely transferred between locations. We are using conservation-grade storage materials from Gaylord Archival to supply our archival needs. We commit to staying current with digital archiving practices to protect the quality of donations. Digital donations are stored on an encrypted external hard drive. Until the archive is organized for public access, the donations will be accessible to Caitlin Abadir-Mullally and select YallaPunk volunteers.
When will the archive be available to see in person and online?
We are planning to have the online archive built out by early 2022. Keep checking in with us!
Will there be programming or exhibitions around the archive?
Stay tuned!
